The apartment is located in a historical mansion built at the beginning of XXth century and overlooks an ancient Moscow street. Location did influence the interior design. Historical brick cladding, ceiling wood beams and nine windows were all preserved in the project. Functional part was created with the help of 2 sub-spaces (boxes). One box rooms a guest bedroom and a clauset, mezzanine and a library. The other box functions as a leaving room, bathroom and a kitchen. Dining, sofa and cozy breakfast areas are located around the “boxes”, while master bedroom is in a separate room.
Classic white walls and dark minimalistic furniture contrast is relaxed by warm straw-colored Oak flooring matching the natural wood furniture elements. The classic flooring herringbone pattern underlines the authenticity of brick cladding and concrete ceiling with beams, as well as blends them into the modern interior of this historical building.
